I'm totally new to wifi, so bear with me -
Some months back our old vanilla ADSL modem packed up and all the replacements in the local shop were wifi-ready, so why not? I just used the ethernet cable to our non-wifi old XP desktop.
Then we replaced the desktop and I asked to shop guy to make it wifi ready, because 'why not?'.
It works a treat and I can disconnect the ethernet cable and it switches straight to wifi. OK.
But we had houseguests and then a local friend visit with their wifi devices - they can 'see' our wifi service with its strong signal, get prompted for its password, but fail to get a working connection.
Any clues? I set the modem to the max security level and it's a Greek pc/modem system and theirs are UK devices, in case that might be relevant.
