Why republicans hate unemployed veterans.

I was watching fox news and the republicans were going off on the cost and ineffectiveness of education, job counseling and placement services at the reemployment center and especially singled out the veterans reeducation and reemployment Plan. They said that only 100 veterans had been hired from the plan which offed some tax benefits for hiring veterans. This is a direct attack on homeless veterans from tea partiers who only want benefits to the top brass. What are some problems with the idea that education, counseling, and job placement is a waste of time for unemployed veterans?

1. The program is still going on and people are still in school.

2. I heard that the jobs being offered weren't very good and there weren't that many of them.

3. The tax credits were insufficient to attract many businesses.

4. realistically its going to take more incentives to get businesses to hire long term unemployed veterans who are already working at a disadvantage because they are veterans.

I do agree that the bill was not particularly well thought out and I am missing out of a few months of benefits because the program runs out before the money does. The republicans blocked an extension of this plus other benefits for veterans. The republicans are full of lying rhetoric when it comes to the problems of veterans. They say yes when they are on camera but when it comes to a vote they vote against it.

Of course the program is still going on. It could be possible that companies will step up and hire these veterans. I personally wont be done until 2015 which highlights the problems of gaging the effectiveness of the program.
