I turned my computer off, then turned it back on again and suddenly Firefox is having a problem starting. It takes ages to launch, using 100% of the CPU to do so, then when it finally does launch it gets as far as putting the navigation bar on screen then it leaves the rest of the page blank and hangs. I then have to exit using the Task Manager.
I thought it might be an update, so made a back-up of my profile, uninstalled it, deleted all data pertaining to it, installed an old version, and I'm still having problems. This time, during the start-up process it says that it quit during the start up process and asks whether I want to start it in safe mode. When I do that, it does the same "load the navigation bar, leave everything else blank, then hang" thing.
It's really bizarre, as surely deleting all data and installing a previous version should sort out any problems with the program, with my profile, or my add-ons. I'm stumped.
