This obituary made me think of the question
Private burial for Greece's last king Constantine
Im not well versed on the subject but the article says that in 1974, Greece voted to abolish the monarchy. He was the last monarch. He was later stripped of his Greek citizenship. Maybe that was excessive, but the French were even less lenient. It says He continued to regard himself as king, while accepting that Greece had become a republic. Is that why they stripped him of his citizenship?
I bear no ill will towards those who inherit this position. Im just not a fan of the institution itself. What do you think?
