Kind of a vague question that I'm kind of hoping other people can ask better, if that makes any sense.
The "I'm sorry if anyone was offended" non-apology is almost a cliché at this point, so... what makes a good apology?
I want to at least try to set up a vague outline without specific examples. For our purpose we'll assume a person who was already well established in the public eye, that did a bad but not like unforgivable thing, and that they are honestly sorry for what they did.
What do they say? What do they not say?
