Materialism states that there is only physical matter. Nothing more.
But when you study a brain, a network of firing neurons, you do not find 'a dream' or 'an image in the mind'. No neuroscientist will find such a thing.
Therefore, the dream activity or the image you have in your mind is not in the material world. You cannot find it there. There is an extra dimension to the material world, connected to the brain, where thoughts, dreams, inner imagery etc. resides. This dimension can not be found by our best instruments.
We need 'to be' a brain, to be able to discover this extra dimension where thoughts, experiences, images, dreams, etc. are.
My thesis here is that there is an extra dimension in the material world, where 'experiences' are, which are not measurable, but only observable if you 'are' the material itself. (a brain, a nervous system etc.)
