So data is being dumped in the sea off my home. Should I be concerned about pollution?

Will viruses or bugs escape into the environment?
This is clearly a one way dump, because there sure is not the internet access here to get the data back once dumped. On the other hand we have lots of metal work dumped by foreigners in Scapa, so why not fill it with data? If we could just get tidal energy to work it would be a pretty environmental friendly option. (The tides are too strong here most attempts cannot cope.) The crofters could take up bitcoin farming, incomes here can be a bit precarious so this would be welcome.
