Back in the day I heard about the birther issue, so I looked at it.
Some of the items seen:
-The 1991 Harvard promo booklet saying he was born in Kenya.
-Two videos of Michele saying 'he is Kenyan' when she was helping him run for office.
-A video of Obama in Kenya saying 'its good to be home'
Later I saw two newspaper articles mentioning a foreign birthplace. By then, the articles were found by mis-spelling his name (Barrack instead of Barack).
I happened to see the two articles on the day they were first put online. The next day they were '404 not found'
One article was a Kenyan paper bragging about their native son's political success in America. The second article was a Honolulu Advertiser 2006 article about Tammy Duckworth. Praising Duckworth, then senator Obama was quoted: (paraphrasing) "...how great America is because Tammy and I can be elected to serve in Washington even though we were not born in this wonderful country..."
On the day the two articles were posted, I went to both newspapers websites to check veracity. They were there, in both newspapers' archives. The next day, I went back to both newspapers websites, (maybe to make sure I was not dreaming) and the articles were not found.
While writing this post today, I saw a related article mentioning 'scrubbing'. It is the first link below. The second link (May 17, 2017) updates the eligibility lawsuit filed Dec 2015 based on fraud found by the only investigation of the birth document conducted so far.
