This from the BBC
As I write this my daughter is hanging around my neck. I can't even go to the bathroom without hearing screaming and fighting and the word "mamma" screeching through my "loving" home.
Various people lamenting parenthood, all of whom seem to share the cry of 'I didn't think it would be like this'
My question to them is what the bloody hell did they think it would be like?
I enjoy meeting exhausted new parents who are in a state of shock from the amount of work, effort, blood, sweat and tears that needs to be invested in being a parent. It's like no-one ever told them or they didn't believe what they were told or, more likely, they thought they were special.
I fully believed all those new parents who told me how much effort, of all stripes, it takes to be a parent so I didn't do it.
