I thought it would be worth having a general thread to discuss the silliness of the alt-right memes and conspiracy theories that keep cropping up on social media.
I admit, I used to be interested enough to actually reply to posts that friends shared to point out when it was... factually dubious, but after a few years I have given myself a quiet life by unfriending and choosing to "block all posts from..." options.
You know the sort of thing. Rubbish stories about some horrendous crime committed by Immigrants, Jews, Islam, etc, or cries of "I can't believe this Christmas Scene / George Cross/ Bacon Sandwich was reported as offensive, how many people can like and share?" They have all been floating around the internet so long that they should be as recognisably guff as emails from Saudi Princes who want a small fee to access vast wealth they will share with you.
But that got me thinking: What with these memes being shared without thought, maybe it would worth just keeping track of all the old cobblers that are about due to make their next whirl around.
Anybody seen the "threats to Christmas" crop up yet?
