To sell, buy or hold, that is the question

So on the night Trump was elected, world markets took a nosedive. But then on the next day they bounced back, and they remain generally at or above where they were on the day before the election. So there is now a window of opportunity to sell if you foresee big declines in the market in the future. I am considering whether to do that.

On the other hand, maybe there are actually reasons to be more optimistic, and if I sell now, I could be losing out on an opportunity. There could be a Keynesian stimulus coming from a combination of more spending and lower taxes. Trump says he wants to spend a lot on infrastructure and to cut taxes. On the other side though, he wants to rip up or renegotiate trade deals. He has said he will tell his Treasury Secretary to label China a currency manipulator on day 1. So maybe investments in China are a sell but it's a good time to invest in the US.

Any opinions are welcome.
