Democratic Senator (NJ) Menendez lost his attempt in the Court of Appeals to have charges of bribery and corruption dropped. For those not following, they were trying to hide behind Senatorial privilege, essentially denying the charges without offering any evidence and saying "... but it doesn't matter because I'm a Senator and I'm untouchable....".
His lawyers say they'll take it to the Supremes to determine if he has to stand trial. I doubt you'll get a partisan split in the SC - he's a Democrat - so were the Court to rule that he can't be charged, it'd be a huge decision.
