This thread has to do with a form of denial that supposedly "straight" guys use whenever they happen to be attracted towards other guys. Time and time again I keep seeing people who, despite being obviously turned on by some hot pretty young and feminine guy, decide to come up with some excuse for why they "aren't gay".
Statements like "he looks like a girl so it's not gay" are fairly common but I've also seen people say even more silly things such as "it's not gay if you are the top" or "I'm straight because I'm only attracted towards feminine people".
In general i find this kind of attitude both silly but also sad since it's just another testament to the fact that many people still treat sexual orientation as being a black and white dichotomy between "straight" and "gay". Rarely they identify with, or even recognize the possibility of, being bisexual since bisexuals are "only attracted towards manly men and women at the same-time" or something like that.
Why is this attitude prevalent?
