I've been contemplating lately on the "Free Market will take care of it" mantra that some have expressed in regards to racial discrimination, SSM, etc. In the Indiana thread there was discussion about how the "Free Market" will clear up the discrimination issues. If we just left it to the people, they would boycott the shop and then the shop would close down. There was no need for any government intervention on the bias that their newly created law would allow them.
That being said I've been reading comments on Facebook, and actually had a discussion with an individual recently on how upset he was that eBay, Amazon, and Wal-Mart had taken the flags off of the market. I replied that I was under the impression that the free market was a cornerstone of the GOP.
It went really silent after that, but what I would like explained to me is what is the difference between the two? No moves were needed to prevent bias in regards to Memories Pizza, but now they're extremely upset and calling it "a violation of their rights" because the free market removed the flag now.
