Bomb safety, WWII vs Vietnam

Today my wife and kids were going to visit an aquarium in Hannover, Lower Saxony, but the A-Bahn was closed because some old WWII bombs were found near the road.

That made me think - Germany was heavily bombed of course, but Vietnam was hit even harder. Does Vietnam have the same sorts of problems with un-exploded ordnance, or had technology advanced enough by then to reduce the number of duds?

I mean, when these sorts of things happen in Europe, it makes the news. Is it just not reported in SE Asia, or is it actually less of a problem there?
