Is an Undetectable God the Same as a Non-Existent God?

Suppose a god exists that unobservedly intervenes in the world on a massive scale. Examples: the blowout that would have sent you careening into oncoming traffic is supernaturally postponed so that you harmlessly go off the side of the road; the toy on the stairs which you would have tripped on is moved an inch to your left; a comet is nudged so that it hits Siberia instead of New York, etc.

Would our failure to detect such a being be the equivalent of the being not-existing? Or is it hubris to think that reality consists of only those things that can be detected by us?
