Is Belief in the Existence of Technologically Advanced Aliens Woo?

It was asserted in a thread that beliefs in statements for which there is no evidence are "woo" beliefs. So I have two questions:



1. Is there any evidence that technologically advanced aliens exist?



2. If not, is the belief in the existence of technologically advanced aliens irrational?
