Belief in a supernatural presence can make us more moral.

The Buzz wire test:

Derren Brown demonstrates in this video that the notion of "someone" being able to see them causes a moral behaviour by asking people to do the buzz wire test and count how many times they hit the bar and set the buzzer off. One group he just told that if they do well in the test they will get the chance to appear on the show and the other group, while being told the same, were also told that there was a chair in the room that was supposedly haunted by an old lady who died in it. Three out of four in the first group actually lied as to how many times they had set the buzzer off while the other group didn’t lie at all. The idea is that when we have the notion of someone overlooking it can cause people to be more moral and drew the similarities to people who have faith in God will also tend to behave more morally.
