Found this on Twitter, and would like if someone can confirm the authencity of it:
I know Iran was more liberal in the past, but then it was not ruled by a theocracy until 1979. But Saudi Arabia has from its inception been ruled by the house of Saud, which had and has ties with Salafi/Wahhabi Islam (which is extremely conservative). Perhaps Saudi history has more nuances then, like Iranian history?
