NPR: "A handful of southern Democrats"

I don't have a transcript of today's episode of Morning Edition on NPR, but the audio is here:

The program opens right at 00:00, with the claim, "A handful of southern Democrats joined Republicans today," to vote against the nomination of Debo Adegbile.

Here's the actual list of Democrats who voted against:

Chris Coons (Del.)

Bob Casey (Pa.),

Mark Pryor (Ark.),

Heidi Heitkamp (N.D.),

Joe Manchin (W.V.),

Joe Donnolly (Ind.)

John Walsh (Mont.)

Harry Reid (Nev.)

Apparently southern racism is so strong that anybody, anywhere, who ever dissents from any promotion of anyone who happens to be black, is magically transformed into a southerner.

Either that, or perhaps there might be a tiny amount of bias at NPR. Not a lot of bias. Just enough bias to get in the way of actual facts.

I guess it's like Mussolini said: "Everything within the Narrative, nothing outside the Narrative, nothing against the Narrative."
