One of the Pegida supporters said that her town was "90% immigrant", that German wasn't spoken any more and that life had become difficult for her and her long-haired blonde children. To me this sounds like the rhetoric of the EDF in England.
I'm pleased that the response in Cologne was that the counter-demonstrators far outnumbered the demonstrators and that the cathedral lights were switched off as a sign of lack of support for the demonstrators.
For some support for Pegida is just a protest like support for UKIP here.
