This story was almost placed in the Religious section but since the religious part of it pertains to interracial beliefs and there was some discussion there on the subject a couple of years ago, I opted for this section instead because of an increasing social situation that seems to be befalling more and more people.

These are politicians in the link. Do they not read or watch the news? Do they not see their peers digging holes like they just did day after day and then being called out for it by the same kind of people who tossed tomatoes from crowds at stumpers a hundred years ago instead of hashtagging them today to ridicule via Twitter? There are so many more cyber-tomato flingers now than then. Are they so inexperienced or just plain ignorant about how their comments will be analyzed publicly nowadays? It’s the same with the BBQ Betsys. You never come out looking good.
Just like the burglar who has been forced to adjust to the fact that there is much more surveillance today to inhibit his activities, one must remember that we are always potentially either videoed or quoted.
Of course I have no problem with either unless it illegally violates my privacy but I expect a politician or someone whose livelihood depends upon such discretion (A Face in the Crowd) to be more in touch with keeping a lip zipped.
It will come back to bite them. Hoschton may be majority white now but not for long. I grew up in East Point, a suburb of Atlanta, known as a Klan town in the 1940’s and 50’s, had the sunset warning signs, lived on a street named after Nathan Bedford Forrest, and witnessed a regular patrol of hooded Klansman who cruised the neighborhood just before dark in a white caddy convertible .
Demographically East Point is 79% black today. Didn’t take that long either.
