In 2010 with the Republican wave at the state level they gerrymandered the hell out of many states and made other changes such as voter ID and reduced voting opportunities designed to cement them in the House and at the state level.
Given the election results and their consequences I don't see how the democrats will get back control in those areas anytime in the next 20 years.
Trump will appoint at least 1 and likely more supreme court justices which will uphold voter ID, the gerrymandering, and other things meant to help them win.
Trump as the incumbent will likely win the 2020 election and I see nothing to convince me that there will be any significant change in the house or at the state level which means that the 2020 redistricting will once again be largely in their control.
Even if the dems win back POTUS and keep the senate they aren't getting back the house nor the SCOTUS and will be unable to effectively legislate no matter what happens.
