2018 mid-term election

There's already a thread about the 2020 election, but this one comes up first and could be very interesting.

Despite Trump's win, Dems picked up seats in both the House and Senate this week. And mid-terms often favor the party out of power, with 2010 being a recent (and catastrophic, IMHO) example.

2010 will, of course, have an effect on 2018 due to Gerrymandering, but all House seats and 1/3 of the Senate will be up. (I haven't looked yet to see what the split between current D and R seats will be that year, but since it will be those elected in 2012 I expect more D's will be vulnerable. If you've got the data, please post it, otherwise I'll look it up after I exercise.)

What will be the effect of two years of Trump? If the economy doesn't improve, and he doesn't achieve some of the insane stuff he promised his more rabid fans, will the R's lose support in general? Or will the D's lose support for obstructing him?

Your thoughts?
