Louie Gohmert's Latest

In the latest episode of America's favorite political sitcom, "That's Our Gohmert", Congressman Louie Gohmert gave a speech on the House floor in which he praised Egyptian dictator Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

Quote:

I hope one day that our top leaders in this country will have the courage of President al-Sisi in Egypt and they will reflect, as Gen. al-Sisi has, the will of the people of their country.

He hopes that our top leaders will one day help lead a coup?

In the same speech, he suggested that Gen. David Petraeus (USA-Ret.) is only being threatened with an indictment to keep him quiet about... three guesses... Benghazi.

Quote:

This administration knows that General Petraeus has information that would virtually destroy any credibility that the administration might still have nationally and internationally, so what else would this administration do but leave over his head for a year and a half the threat, ‘We’re going to prosecute you so you better keep your mouth shut.

I swear, the 2132 campaign will have Republicans demanding that the long-obscured historical record of the truth about Benghazi be revealed.

And, in the same speech, he's not a "phobe" of anything.

Quote:

I fear God, I don’t fear any man. I’m not a ‘phobe’ of anything, but it’s time to recognize truth and that is that radical Islamic terrorists want to destroy our way of life and kill us. It’s very simple.

Except that he regularly blames Islam in general for the actions of terrorists, and he's long been part of the "Obama is a secret Muslim" crowd.

The speech:
