Assuming that the Mexico crisis gets worse, to the extent that by November 2015 (trigger is a cartel attack on a government building in the US), the Obama administration decides to initiate operation conquistador, where US troops pour over the Rio Grande and occupy the northern Mexican states.



Would the US military fare better than the Mexican government against the cartels?
