You've probably seen the trailer for Me Before You. In this "romantic comedy", a paralyzed man and his nurse fall in love. He kills himself because he's paralyzed, leaving her all his money.
Nothing says romance like killing a cripple.
As a disabled person (yes, I have a spinal cord injury, no, I am not a quad. I am a walking paraplegic, I have a machine that lets me walk) this makes me sick. My life is worth living. His life was worth living.
The author did not speak to a single disabled person before writing this. She does not know anything about what disabled people think, do, or feel.
Ftr, we have sex.(a paraplegic can have sex, so can most quads) We love, we get divorced, we raise our kids. Most of us work. Those of us who can't, like me, do what we can with what we've got.
