US state signs 'religious liberty' law

Quote:

From BBC News:
The governor of Mississippi has signed a controversial bill that allows businesses to refuse service to gay couples based on religious beliefs.

He said the bill "protects sincerely held religious beliefs and moral convictions".

Churches, religious charities and private businesses can use the law to legally not serve people whose lifestyles they disagree with.
The arrogance! People holding a mindset based on whim obtain legal endorsement to discriminate against rational people who choose to go about their lives in a law-abiding manner.

Whilst I make no excuses for feeling not altogether comfortable with the notion of a homosexual "lifestyle", it pales into insignificance compared to the contempt I hold towards a "religious lifestyle", particularly when it extends beyond quietly believing in a higher power to manifestly seeking to exercise it.
