So back in 2006, Bernie Sanders believed that same-sex marriage was a STATE issue that should be left to each state to decide for themselves.
This goes against the long-run idea that Bernie has always been pro-SSM. Leaving issues of civil rights to the States to decide, is like leaving Segregation and Slavery to the states.
