Question About a Black Hole Infalling Observer.

I've seen many, many lectures, panel discussions etc. about the Black Hole Information Paradox. It's always mentioned that an infalling observer wouldn't experience anything special passing the event horizon and have some time to ponder their fate before hitting the singularity, assuming the BH is big enough because the tidal forces are extremely weak.

My question is: Some BH's are light days in diameter, but wouldn't you still die almost instantaneously due to length contraction, when you are moving so extremely close to the speed of light? What am I missing?
