A good program to do covers/graphics for a (musical) album?

Slightly offbeat question I guess.......anyone? I could use a generic graphics program of course, just wondering if there's anything that might lend itself to that more (or have aspects that focus on that) that anyone has used (yeah cuz that's such a large demographic I've chosen :rolleyes: :o ). eg extensive/creative font creating capabilities, good at manipulating images, stuff like that. Long shot I realize, but figure I have nothing to lose.

But I do need to upgrade over MS Paint. lol
