Did Hitler yell, grunt and growl hus way through most speeches?

Most people, when imagining Hitler speaking, probably think of something like this:

He starts out half-yelling, with a hectoring, guttural tone and melodramatic intonation and quickly devolves into a kind of high-pitched barking that is just annoying to listen to (never mind the gestures, they obviously looked different to the audience.)

There are precious few recordings of Hitler not of the above sort. But there is one in particular, from a conversation he had with Mannerheim on a train, recorded without Hitler's knowledge:

Here, we can hear what he sounded like in normal conversation. Hitler had a surprisingly deep, soft and fairly pleasant voice; not harsh at all, and his conversational intonation is engaging and melodic.

Now, Hitler's speeches usually went on for hours. Is there any evidence of how he actually talked through most of them? If he spent most of it doing the hammy, hectoring, growling shtick, it's hard to see that anyone would have stuck around. But if he actually spoke in a more conversational and less rigid tone, it's much easier to imagine him as an engaging orator.
