The FBI now defines a serial killer as somebody who kills two or more individuals with or without a cooling off period.
My issue is that using the term is to allow us to get some understanding why they do it.
What about a member of organized crime who in the course of their career ends up killing people every so often when they get in the way. It technically follows the definition but they have no compulsion to kill, the people jsut get in the way of their business.
