Is Inflation Theory Ascendant?

Every day I go on realclearscience and read the science articles. Over the past year or so, I've gotten the impression the inflationary model is the favored one. But maybe that's selection bias on the part of realclearscience.

Has there been a paradigm shift towards inflation theory recently? Do scientists now think it's the most likely explanation for what we observe?
