Well not exactly. However, in a somewhat localized area of southwest Washington state, the past couple of days' torrential rains have left a bizarre, hazy film on the ground and objects onto which it precipitated. The NWS office in the location has actually saved some of the murky rain from their rain gauges and presumably intend to analyze it.
The story has been carried on several news outlets who have tried speculating as to the nature of the contaminant in the rain. Most of the speculation centers around volcanic ash - originating from active sites either in Mexico or Siberia - or much more local wood ash from recent wildfires.
At any rate, thought this would be a fun mention. Nothing so exotic as frogs. But I do recall an alleged "red rain" having fallen in India a couple of years ago. Washington has now had a "white rain". What will the chemical analysis show? Predictions, ISF?
