The two children went to the same school my 7-year-old does; and he knew one of them (although they were not in the same class). Yesterday I went to pick him up and there was a white rose arrangement on the door with a picture of the two kids.
My son said the school told them that the dad had shot and killed the kids. They did not tell them he also shot the mother and then himself. The dynamics in that household were very turbulent and complex. They had counselors there if any of the children wanted to talk.
It was a hard talk to have with him as a parent. To explain why someone would do this to their kids.
I'm certain this thread will have the usual gun comment snark, but this is too close to home. I think we have a real problem with gun violence in this country, and it needs to be addressed. Others will disagree.
