Is the car business really this sexist (and crazy)?

So me and my wife are looking for a new car. We go to for dealerships. Honda, Toyota, Hyundai and Ford. They all went ok... but my wife likes the Hyundai Santa Fe.... that's beside the point (also never take 2 kids under 4 car shopping).

Anyway. So we go to Ford dealership, where I am met by a black car salesman. I only state his race, because all else being equal I like the idea of supporting a minority... you know like a lot of white American's must have felt voting for Obama. White guilt, doing your part to make others fit in... whatever. But the sentiment didn't last long because this guy is obviously pretty shady. But even this part is beside my main point.

That night I go to a poker night. One of the guys I hadn't seen in years and I knew he worked in a Ford dealership. So I asked him.... "Do you know Clive?" (the black car dealer), he laughed. He knew him. He proceeds to tell me how shady he is. How he made $9000 commissions, gave 10k trade ins that were supposed to be 20k, ect, ect. So he goes into more detail about the dealership. He tells me you'll never see more drugs and hookers then in the car business. Tells stories about employee getaways where the boss supplied each dealer a hooker and enough coke for everyone.

He told me the dealership had to stop hiring any attractive females, because they were always getting harassed and usually an affair started at the work place.

I asked about female car dealers and he can name a few... and then names each one and mentions all the guys in the dealership they each slept with.

These stories have been sticking with me for a few days. Surely there are other car dealers that post on here. Is it that bad? Or bad at all? Or is this more of an anomaly?

I thought about posting this in the general section. But I felt it more of a society and culture question.
