My philosophical argument with a Mormon

His premise

obert Cardinelle Cain you begin your argument by saying, “I don’t like it either.” Other’s are deeply offended, even sickened by this radical challenge to normative, gender-appropriate public behavior. People have as much right to be offended for being subject to unannounced (without warning) offensive stimulus as gays and liberals have being offended for private thoughts of bigotries. You've fallen into an affable mind-set, where there is no value added.

You are clearly unaware of the ‘double standard’ pandered by the left particularly when the seek to publicly criticize and/or punish others offended by them, being both surprised and compelled to view same sex French-kissing with approval. This aberrant behavior is not settled law and can be viewed as highly offensive; even obscene. Institutions of morality are slow to change.

John Beynon Why drag my tastes and life style into this discussion. Actually I said I personally dislike two men kissing in public. From that standpoint my views are similar to yours. If you reread my post I gave advice not arguments. My advice being we are going to see something objectionable sometime in our lives so be prepared to get on with your life when it happpens. Life isn't all flowers on sunshine. I regret the children saw the twom men deep kissing but they would later in life see something equally disgusting if not worse. I'm merely being realistic not argumentative.

The left also believes they should be warned in advanced before being subjected to offensive material stimulus. However, the left keeps a ‘double standard’ when the content offends traditional conservative family values, and promotes their dissipation. Specifically, the left is demanding in social media and education materials, “Trigger Warnings;” advanced warnings attached to content potentially offensive, including same sex couples French-kissing, graphic depictions of sexual violence, or other trauma inducing/producing stimulus. The sensitivity level to Trigger Warnings is arbitrarily set and even extends innocuous works such as F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby; pregnancy, breast feeding, menstrual cramping, and women’s periods. So. When the let demands that standard of warning, why in hell do you expect Tracy Boone to be a “big girl” and bear the unpleasantness of a revolting sight?

my reply

John Beynon I really didn't present an argument. I gave advice. It isn't against the law for people too kiss in public? What would the powers that be do about this? Make it against the law t to kiss in public? You might say its legal to kiss lightly on the lips but not deep kiss? Gays say this often "we're here, we're queer, get used to it". Thats their mantra. What I'm saying is this. In life you can expect to see things you don't like and or are disgusted by. Its part of life. You see it and despite the fact that you don't like it you get on with your life. During a black college student pride street party in Atlanta called Freakni I saw some straights doing sex on the side of the street. Some white girls in a car behind me saw it too. We were in bumper to bumper traffic and they were really going at it. One couple would stop and another couple take their place. Hopefully the frightened and disgusted white girls didn't commit suicide when they got away from the action. My point continues to be this. In life you see things that disgust you. Its unavoidable. get used to it and get on with your life.

obert Cardinelle Is it against the law for humans to french kiss horses, goats, dogs? In some states its not against the law to have sex with animals? But is that normative behavior or is that 'shocking,' traumatizing, disturbing to children and others? Get over it, they should have warned views to remove their r children from the viewing, and that 'controversial' behavior was going to be shown. YOUR taste may be in-sensitized due to your life style preferences and choices, but you should not assume that everyone shares such carnal, sensuous and devilish views. Just because something is legal, doesn't mean it needs to be broadcast in dissenting people's faces.
