Just gonna copy and paste a Facebook post to demonstrate my point.
"As one who leans towards Libertarianism, I do agree with conservatives on the right to own guns but I do not share their line of reasoning.
A gun can be used to protect loved ones yes. But so is being CPR certified. How many gun nuts have gone through the effort to also receive a CPR certification to save their loved ones from the many more common causes of death than a burglar killing you? Certainly that sense of civic duty and desire to save lives shouldn't end with owning a gun."
I mean really, if you compare the odds of dying cause a gun wasn't readily available to the odds of dying cause someone around you didn't know how to handle a medical emergency, there's no comparison.
