Come Check Out My Post on the Clergy Project Blog

The Clergy Project is a really cool effort to provide a special, safe place for atheist ex-clergy (and other religious leaders like rabbis, nuns, missionaries, etc.); I joined a few months ago (I originally came to China as a missionary and church planter), and have met a really cool group of people.

TCP is very secret...there's a strict screening process and membership requirements. That's because probably around 1/3 of the members there are still practicing clergy, who would lose their jobs if others knew that they no longer believed. What's rather amazing to me about TCP is that there are over 600 members...that's far more than I would have expected! And its caused me to look at religious leaders in a whole new way...how many of those preachers and evangelists have actually abandoned their beliefs, but don't know how to get out?

Anyway, two weeks ago a new effort was launched to make TCP a little more public. The TCP website and forums are still closed to outsiders, but a blog has been set up where TCP members can make posts on various issues related to being an an ex-religious leader who is now an atheist.

My own article -- "I Am Not Rebelling Against God" -- has just gone live, and I'd really like to encourage others here to go and take a look at it, and if possible add your own comments, questions, etc.
