My laptop can no longer find the harddrive, it seems

Yesterday when I turned off my computer, it seemed to work absolutely fine. But today when I turned it on, I got an error message sayingh there was no bootable device, and it asked me to put one in. I ran a memory test, and it said that the memory was fine, but that the computer lacked a harddrive! So apparently my laptop can't find the harddrive anymore.



Is there something I can do about this? The computer is more than five years old, I am surprised it has worked relatively well for so long.
