Could you write a unique creation myth that obeys the principals of science?
It would need to be engaging, awe inspiring and compelling. Can't just be a fantasy world but must have a hard edge.
As things stand, I can see no purpose in a promise of eternal life but a lot of people would fight for it. Every creation myth seems to be based on at least one outrageous premise and once you swallow that the rest seems plausible.
Like, the world is supported on the back of a turtle...Hmmm what supports the turtle: lets change the subject!
My soul is lost because of the ancients eating knowledge apples.. Or I had a Jewish co-worker who said to me " I guess you-all say we killed Christ". Huh?? Wow that was a new idea for me.
I had to say I hadn't heard that but thinking back on Christian teaching, I suppose some fanatics do say similar things. Same notion that the modern person is to blame for the supposed deeds of some vague ancestor.
