I'm an Illinois resident but moving to California, where I am now with temporary housing. Will have a new apartment April or May 1st. I found a pre-owned (certified by maker) car I'd like to buy soon, with financing (from a credit union), but I'm wondering if not yet having a CA address will cause headaches regarding plates, title, etc; or is it not a big deal. Any thoughts?
Also I think CA sales tax is lower than IL, but I'm not sure which I would pay in my situation. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.
ETA: My credit is good, but I'm wondering if applying for an auto loan will be an issue with my credit...esp. if I apply for more than one apartment and get my credit checked multiple times.
