I can't donate to the JREF

I tried to give 20 dollars to the JREF, but I kept getting "Gift amount is invalid" messages, even though I saw no minimum amount mentioned. Is this amount too small? If so, why is this (apparently) not mentioned anywhere?

Fake alert

During the last 48 hours, I have been getting fake alerts, when I come to this site.

I am unable to copy it, but the main wording is -

'You are currently browsing the web with Google Chrome and it is recommended that you update your video player to the fastest version available.

Please update to continue'.

It has happened numerous times, as soon as I come to this forum, and often, when I try to open a thread on this forum.

During the past few weeks, I have also received a few other types of fake alerts, also only when on this site.

On one occasion, Norton told me that it had stopped a fake Java update from downloading.

I have just updated to Windows 7 a few weeks ago, and have Norton Internet Security on my computer which is updated.

Full scans have revealed nothing.

The fact that it appears only when I go to this site, seems to indicate that this site has been hacked in some way (??).

Every time the notice appears, i have always immediately shut down my computer, without touching anything, accept on one occasion, I screen copied the notice and saved it to Word - but it won't copy on here

Not Much Difference Between This Satirical Piece And What Ignorant People Believe

The National Report:

Solar Panels Drain the Sun's Energy

This week, a scientific research facility in Wyoming made a startling discovery that is certain to change the way millions of Americans look at the environmentalism movement, after they found conclusive evidence that solar panels not only convert the sun’s energy into usable energy, but that they are also draining the sun of its own energy, possibly with catastrophic consequences far worse than global warming.

Scientists at the Wyoming Institute of Technology, a privately-owned think tank located in Cheyenne, Wyoming, discovered that energy radiated from the sun isn’t merely captured in solar panels, but that energy is directly physically drawn from the sun by those panels, in a process they refer to as “forced photovoltaic drainage.”

“Put into laymen’s terms, the solar panels capture the sun’s energy, but pull on the sun over time, forcing more energy to be released than the sun is actually producing,” WIT claims in a scientific white paper published on Wednesday. “Imagine a waterfall, dumping water. But you aren’t catching the water in buckets, but rather sucking it in with a vacuum cleaner. Eventually, you’re going to suck in so much water that you drain the river above that waterfall completely.”

Unfortunately, this type of thing often gets filtered through the moronic masses and freaks out a certain percentage of the people. Really sad.

Race Vs IQ

I keep getting told in various places of studies that prove IQ is directly related to race. No one seems to ever to be able to link me to these studies, but the claim never goes away.

How I understand things - The primary driver for IQ is nurture and environment. Smart parents don't mean automatically smart kids. Low IQ parents don't mean their children will be equally disadvantaged.

So have I missed some paradigm changing discovery here or are people out there blowing smoke rings?

Sure I could google it - But I really do not feel wading through 8 million racial hate hits to find an answer

"5 Disturbing Things I Learned in Scientology's 'Space Navy' "

No, not me, the guy who wrote this.

Quote:

The Sea Org is Scientology's answer to Navy SEALs, only with less focus on special ops and more on fleecing children and the gullible. They were originally created to crew L. Ron Hubbard's private fleet, but over the years they morphed from "religious Marine Corps" into something between a cult, the Mickey Mouse Club, and a time-share scam. My name is Derek Bloch, and I spent three years in Scientology's creepy space navy before abandoning ship. Here's what I learned:"

Bleeding Jesus Statue of Cochabamba

I watched a film about this. They took samples of the "blood" & "tears" coming from the plaster statue of Jesus. The camera was rolling as the blood & tears oozed out.

Blood samples were collected as they oozed out, and analyzed by several forensic pathologists & labs in several countries. They all found fresh human blood, some human skin cells, white blood cells, & scabs with fibrin, but no DNA. Also a thorn fragment was found in the sample from the forehead area. X ray & CAT scan of the statue showed that there were no cracks, openings or tubes inside the statue; it was hollow plaster. WTF?

Serratia marcescens is a ubiquitous bacterium that can produce a red pigment called prodigiosin and likes to hang out as a pink film in dirty, damp areas, but it was not found in the samples.

I am a skeptic, but unable to figure out how this happened. Any ideas?
