Who's ready for some more Ebola?

A new Ebola outbreak [CNN] in the Equateur province in the northwestern part of the DRC has killed five people out of nine total infected between 18-30 May.

The eastern part of the country was already dealing with an Ebola outbreak that started in 2018 and hasn't had a new case for 21 out of the 42 days required to declare it over. 42 days represents two incubation cycles of the virus.

On top of that, the country is battling both COVID-19 and a massive measles outbreak.

How many bombs did the US military drop in 2019?

Not sure about which forum to put this, but ... I do believe there is a conspiracy to keep us in the dark on this subject so....

I note that for years 'The Air Force Magazine' published a daily report that listed the number and types sorties flown each day by the Air Force, but that was discontinued.

Googling I can find that the US dropped 7000+ bombs on Afghanistan in 2019, and on Sept. 10 dropped 40 tons of bombs on an island in Iraq.

But I can't find any comprehensive numbers. Are they available?

Next up (in ten minutes as I type this) is The Idea of the Brain:

Quote:

The human brain’s deepest secrets may finally be within our grasp. Galloping through centuries of wild speculation and ingenious, sometimes macabre anatomical investigations, scientist and historian Matthew Cobb examines the latest theories. Chaired by Daniel Davis.
Loads of good stuff to come.

Can relativism save you in a religious community?

Hi,

Well, this is my situation : I am an atheist in a religious country, I cannot make friends or date a girl without making it clear that I am non-religious. And it always end up by rejection. I still cannot find a wife, although I am in my thirties. I always try to convince myself that I am the one who rejects people, and I cope using methods from stoicism...

I just want to socialize with others, and get rid of this urge to correct them if, deep down, I think they are wrong (especially on religious matters)? I am not convinced that relativism is true, because I am sure truth is grounded on objective reality.

But I think that relativism is a healthy position, if you want to function normally in such a society, because I feel like I am a robot on the autistic spectrum.

I don't want to care anymore about what is true or what is logical, and I want to keep my convictions to myself. Can relativism help in such a situation?

Thank you,

Mohamed.
