David Goggins, the "Toughest man alive"

Have any of you heard of this living god?

Seriously, is anyone else tired of crap like this? I think it has to do with how we as a society have become so sedentary, we hold up people like Goggins as role models, and other "extreme/high intensity" sports.

Quote:

Ran a 100-mile race despite collapsing at mile 70, where he had to tape his entire foot to finish the race
When does motivation and "striving to win/finish" become dangerous obsession? Just because you can tape your entire foot to finish a race 30 miles left, doesn't mean you should.

What I find ironic is this:

Quote:

Live Inside Yourself: Don’t seek external resources to find what you want. Go inside yourself, and “write your own story.
In an interview, he says he saw an ad for Navy SEALs on TV so he decided to become a SEAL. That does not sound like "Going inside yourself" to me.

In my opinion, as a skeptic, his feats and accomplishments are impressive, I can't take that away from him. But in my view, there are other individuals who convey a healthier sense of drive and fitness to follow without being self destructive.
