Stimulating Simulation – The Physical Universe.

The question of GOD is everywhere and it seems it just won’t go away, until it is finally answered.

Some people have learned how to deal with it that it is no longer a question, at least not for them personally, regardless of how they have chosen to deal with the question. To say that there is a God, or that there isn’t and go about living within the parameters of those beliefs either way, the question still remains a fascinating mystery altogether forced upon the Human Psyche due to the nature of the Physical Universe and Human Consciousness experiencing it as reality.

For those who understand such mysteries enough to realise that there is no point in deciding either way or formulating specific beliefs for or against the idea, taking such logical position enables those who do so to remain unaffected by those for and against beliefs and this is the most advantageous position to hold in relation to the question.

Some argue that GOD can be observed through the physical universe, and that prayer is great subjective evidence which supports the particular god-concept they pray to – and supports the fact that GOD exists, albeit quite invisibly and non-intrusively.

Others argue that this belief is simply a product of seeing patterns that are not really there and assigning an outside force to something that is really only coincidence.

It is extremely difficult to argue against someone’s interpretation of their own subjective experience of the physical universe and get them to align to your own subjective interpretation of the physical universe.

It is extremely difficult to know for sure that observations on a particular object of study really amount to an absolute proven truth as a subjective group consensus. In most cases it is simply that the group agrees that ‘this is the most likely’ conclusion to draw, based on the available evidence, although some of that group might decide that ‘the most likely’ is to be believed as ‘this is the absolute proven truth’ and behave as if it actually was.

I have been speculating internally about the possibility of the physical universe being some kind of Simulation.

There is no easy way to tell one way or the other.

We have only the physical evidence to work with, and since everything physical is within the physical universe including the individuals observing it, it is exactly like the GOD question in many ways.

Based on the ‘what if’ I can imagine the possibility that the Physical Universe might be a Simulation I am within and then I can speculate how this might be possible.

For example, ‘what if’ we are wired up to some intricately complex machine which allows us to experience the physical universe completely unaware that we are wired up and experiencing a Simulation?

It isn’t of course a new idea. There are all sorts of versions around – many to do with some dark agenda or another and those involved within the illusion – those experiencing being human in the physical universe – are the hapless victims of those who operate the complex machinery which we are wired into.

But what if it wasn’t as malevolent as most of the stories on this subject seem to imply?

What if those implications of dark agenda were simply constructs based upon what human beings see in their selves and in each other, and transfer those behaviours upon the operators of the complex machines simulations?

What if.

I realize a lot of individuals shy away from ‘what ifs’ and seemingly improvable speculation, and tend to treat such with scorn and ridicule – perhaps because they cannot go there in their minds or are afraid to, but I reason that if people can play computer games and have fun doing so, there is no reason why they couldn’t allow their imaginations to explore speculation on being inside a Simulation and experiencing a the physical universe as reality.

Indeed, Human Beings are working at designing games which for all intent and purpose can be experienced as real.

What do you think?
