Let it be known, I do re-cycle, and comply with my township's regulations.
The idea as I understand it, is that using your own canvas bag at the supermarket saves a plastic bag from ending up in the land fill.
While the groceries come home in the canvas bag, the garbage that actually goes to the curb is invariably contained within plastic supermarket bags placed inside the garbage can and ends up in the land fill.
I can see how the store is saving money by not giving you plastic bags.
I don't see where the saving is for the environment.
What am I missing here?
