Psychic: Sentenced for murder and million dollar theft

A 42-year old psychic who also worked as a palm reader and aura identifier around the United States --- under various names --- was convicted of first-degree murder and on more than 50 additional criminal counts including bilking a woman in her 80’s out of $1 million dollars.

The Seattle Times (August 10, 2013) reports that Brenda Nicholas was the “mastermind” who “carried out with extreme brutality” the killing of a 70-year old Navy veteran and two-time Purple Heart recipient in order steal his valuable coin and uncut bill collection.

Incredibly the very same day of the murder she also attempted to kill and rob another elderly man according to the Senior Deputy Prosecutor. And while working as a psychic in Seattle’s International District she convinced an 80-year old woman of having a “gray aura” which could be corrected. That process led to bilking the woman out of $1 million.

Brenda Nicholas also pleaded guilty to first-degree identify theft and two counts of first-degree theft. Superior Court Judge Theresa Doyle said “I think Ms. Nicholas is a danger to society” and noted the “heartlessness, the cold-bloodedness, and the inhumanity” of the murder and having “basically ruined” the life of the 80-year old victim she befriended as a psychic.

According to the sentencing memo the murder victim was alive and screaming during much of his attack. The judgment was the stiffest punishment available --- a little over 34 years in prison.

This continues the seemingly endless string of “psychics” who are being sentenced to prison and others receiving harsh court judgments. And yet the paranormal community ignores their exploding epidemic of delusional business claims, bogus missing child psychic detectives, paranormal client thefts, massive tax evasion fraud, and their sales of exaggerated ‘police psychic’ services by con-artists.
