Is it ok to wipe god over an atheist's funeral?

Had a friend's funeral today - beautiful human being, mother of 2 young girls, talented musician and teacher.... breast cancer came back, and somehow found its way into her brain.....

Anyway, although they were raised in religious households, both her and her husband were/are both very definitely atheists. In fact, she found it all quite silly.

At her funeral today her religious parents wiped god all over everything. We listened to the priest or whatever he was crap on for a good half hour about it. Im sure her husband wouldnt have appreciated it, and it was a bit of a dark spot in an otherwise uplifting funeral (she really was loved by hundreds, the place was absolutely packed, including the choir from the school where she taught).

Does anyone think this is ok? I wouldnt have thought so, but my missus thinks its ok since it might give some sort of comfort to her parents......

When I die, can I expect some whacky relative to shoe-horn god into my funeral? Do religious people all think this is ok?
